Ronald H. Levit, M.D.

Ronald H. Levit, M.D., recently joined Chatham Orthopaedic Associates after completing specialty training in hand and upper extremity surgery at the prestigious Curtis National Hand Center. Designated by Congress as the "National Center for the Treatment of the Hand and Upper Extremity," the center assists in training hand surgeons for the U.S. military. Prior to selecting his specialization, Dr. Levit completed his orthopaedic surgery training at the Henry Ford Health System, an active trauma center. He received his medical education at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, graduate education at The University of Maryland and undergraduate education at The Pennsylvania State University.

Dr. Levit believes in a team approach to treating his patients. At Chatham Orthopaedic Associates, he is able to provide comprehensive care that includes medical management, radiographic services, casting, custom splinting and therapy. The practice also allows Dr. Levit to perform most of his surgical procedures in the surgery center located within the same building. He strives to use minimally invasive techniques and arthroscopic surgery whenever possible to improve the satisfaction of his patients. For example, when medical management of carpal tunnel syndrome proves unsuccessful, Dr. Levit offers an endoscopic procedure, which is performed through a small incision and uses a small camera and cutting instrument. This option has been shown to decrease postoperative discomfort and allows patients to return to their normal activities earlier than following a traditional carpal tunnel release surgery.

In addition to hand surgery, Dr. Levit enjoys practicing general orthopaedics and treats common fractures, tendon injuries, ligament injuries and joint disorders.
